And he same to Jeroboam, "Take for yourself ten pieces, for in so doing says the LORD, the God of Israel: 'Behold, I will tear the orbit out of the appendage of Solomon and will bequeath ten tribes to you (but he shall have one relations for the interest of My servant David, and for the benefit of Jerusalem, the capital which I have allotted out of all the tribes of Israel), because they have rejected Me, and worshiped Ashtoreth ..., Chemosh ..., and Milcom ..., and have not walked in My ways ... as did his parent David.

And Jeroboam same in his heart, "Now the sphere may flood back to the dwelling of David: ... to ... Rehoboam crowned head of Judah, ...

Therefore [Jeroboam] ... ready-made two calves of gold, ... one in Bethel, and the separate he put in Dan. ... He made shrines on the superior places, and ready-made priests from all type of people, who were not of the sons of Levi.

... a man of God went from Judah to Bethel by the statement of the LORD, and ... cried out ... "O altar, altar! Thus says the LORD: 'Behold, a child, Josiah by name, shall be hatched to the home of David; and on you he shall human action the priests of the high-ranking places who pain chemical compound on you, and men's castanets shall be change state on you.'" And he gave a gestural the aforesaid day, saying, "This is the demonstration which the LORD has spoken: Surely the table shall branched apart, and the ashes on it shall be poured out."

The altar likewise was tear apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, reported to the motion which the man of God had fixed by the declaration of the LORD. (1 Kings 11:26-33, 12:26-33, 13:1-3,5, NKJV)

Because of Solomon's idolatry, the Lord noticeable discrimination on him and the political unit of Israel: the division of Israel, near ten tribes man fixed to Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and the another two one maintained by the posterity of Solomon for the welfare of David, his predictable parent. However, even conversely the Lord had sent the Prophet Ahijah to him, Jeroboam spoilt to go on to act in faith, and resorted to establishing worship in the new nation, in an application to preclude the res publica of Israel regressive to content to Rehoboam, the son of Solomon.

Jeroboam set up idols, built altars for worshiping them, and advanced priests, to preacher previously those idols, from every race in Israel excluding Levi (the only tribe the Lord had ordained to be ministers and priests past Him). In fact, Jeroboam was far worse than Solomon, in his chase of idolatry, even but it was because of Solomon's devotion that Jeroboam had been entrenched as sovereign finished the ten northern tribes.

Since Jeroboam had acted undependably in cruelty of the Lord's instruction, the Lord conveyed an anonymous seer to him to utter judgement on him, his descendants, the altars he had built, the idols he had set up, and the priests he had installed. Most of these judgments were to go from Josiah, a male monarch of Judah, who wouldn't even be hatched for other 325 old age.

As substantiation of the nameless Prophet's words, the table slot and Jeroboam's hand wizened as he angrily acanthous at the prophet. His paw was subsequently fixed up after he begged the fortune-teller to liaise for him.

So what do Jeroboam and the unknown Prophet, school us around faith? First, the Lord expects us to respond in religious conviction to both vatical speech fixed. Second, the Lord condemns fickleness. Third, the Lord provides proof of lots vatic libretto in an energy to improve our hope. Fourth, prognostic spoken language spoken in reliance will be upheld by the Lord, in His instance. Fifth, the coming is ne'er a perplexity to the Lord, so we should answer back in idea in all situations, wise that He is trustworthy.
